| Pine has been used over the centuries for flooring, owing to its durability and character, and offers a cost-effective alternative to the more expensive floors available.
We supply a range of tongue and grooved boards in various new and reclaimed softwoods. Widths available are 5", 7" and 9". The reclaimed timber we offer is generally from demolished Victorian factories and hospitals, where only the finest quality softwood was used. The new pine consists mainly of pitch pine and Douglas fir, all of which can be treated with a variety of finishes to suit every environment.
Laying
It is vital that wooden floors are installed by professional contractors to guidelines such as BS8201.
Wood is a natural product, and the building's humidity levels, heating system etc need to be considered to minimise any movement of the finished floor. During installation, appropriate fixing, jointing, sanding and filling methods should be employed to ensure the floor retains its natural beauty for years to come.
A solid wooden floor in oak or pine, is an enhancement to any property and will mature and adapt to any future change in style.
Environmental Policy
We actively attempt to ensure that all our new timber is obtained from sustainable sources. We only purchase stocks originating from managed forests where, as trees are harvested, new trees are replanted. We do not manufacture from rainforest timber. |
